Ticket Prices – £20 for affiliated runners, £22 for non-affiliated runners

Return/Transfer Policy

Please note that One Step Closer Events operates a strict 7-day refund policy. If you wish to cancel your place and receive a full refund, you must do this within 7 days of signing up. After this time, One Step Closer Events have the right to decline requests for full refunds. In 2020 we will not be deferring places to futures runs but if you find someone to take your place please get in touch so we can transfer your place over.

Closing Date

The last day to sign up is the 3rd of October or once all places have been filled. There will be no on the day sign-ups

Numbers will be posted out 2 weeks before the run

We are need of volunteers to help with road marshalling if this is something you would be interested in please visit the Volunteer page. Free places to future Ponte Half races for any volunteer

The Route

Start: Cornmarket, Pontefract Town Centre

Course: Takes you out of Pontefract and into the beautiful countryside through Ackworth Wentbridge and Carleton before heading back towards town

Finish: A final lap of the town centre before you finish on the cobbles of Market Place

Parking

It’s Sunday so parking in Pontefract is free. The most convenient places to park are the Tesco (WF8 1BJ) and Morrisons (WF8 4PQ) car parks. We also have an overflow car park at Pontefract Racecourse (WF8 4QD) which is only a 10 minute walk from the start.

Photography

Photographers will be on the course and near the finish line. They will be posted onto Facebook and our website after the race

UKA Licence

The Pontefract Half Marathon has a full UKA licence. Our licence number is: 2019-36675 .

Road Closures

Roads will be closed to all vehicles (with the exception of emergency vehicles) We are working with a fantastic traffic management company, Amberon and our marshals will be on the course but we would still like you all to be aware and stay safe

Please be aware that a number of roads will be affected by the closures on the day. Please click here for a full list of roads closed for the event. Access onto to these roads is not permitted between the times stated.

Music

Expect the normal great atmosphere with some tunes to get you fired up at the start and to help with your sprint finish!

Headphones

We have had a lot of runners enquiring about the use of headphones. We can confirm that they are allowed although we would ask you to remain vigilant of your surroundings and other runners.
